Day 1: Arrive Yangon
Upon arrival at Yangon International Airport, meet and welcomed by your tour guide and transfer to hotel with air conditioned private vehicle. Your guide will assist to settle into your hotel. Explore Yangon starting from the city centre near Sule Pagoda to enjoy the bustling life of Yangon and its people. Then visit Bogyoke Aung San Market (former Scott’s Market), where shopper’s favourite place. Then to Chaukhtathgyi Pagoda, 67 meter long the most elegant reclining Buddha. This evening visit the dazzling Shwedagon Pagoda, a remarkable structure with a dazzling gold stupa that rises 98m above the city and is visible for miles around. Observe the lively activity of Buddhist at the various shrines around the vast compound to worship and make offerings. Overnight Yangon.
Day 2: Yangon - Bago - Golden Rock (B)
Breakfast at hotel. Leave hotel for the scenic drive to Bago, rice bowl of Myanmar. Formerly known as Pegu, Bago, a 1hr30 drive and 80kms to the north west of Yangon, was the capital of the Mon Kingdom of Lower Myanmar in the 15th century. On the way visit Kyeik Pun Pagoda, four gigantic Buddha images all in sitting posture facing the four cardinal points of the compass. Shwethalyaung Pagoda, the 55 meters long and 16 meters high, another biggest reclining Buddha image in Myanmar built during 9th century and colorful and very lively Bago Market. Lunch at Sane Lè Tin Resort. The Uniquely situated in an idyllic setting amidst lush tropical vegetation and age-old rocks, Sane Lè Tin Resort and Kyaik Hto town is only 3 miles in 10 minutes drive. After recreation proceed to one of Myanmar's great pilgrimage sites is the Golden Rock at Kyaikhtiyo, a huge boulder covered by gold leaf and delicately balanced on the edge of a cliff. The pagoda at the Golden Rock is said to hold a hair of the Buddha. Arrive at Kyaikhtiyo base camp and transfer to the transit junction with one of the small open trucks in a 45 minutes ride. Arrive middle camp and start an easy one-hour walk up to the Golden Rock. Check in at hotel and enjoy the evening on the pagoda. Overnight in Kyaikhtiyo.
Day 3: Golden Rock - Yangon (B)
Breakfast at hotel and visit to the pagoda to witness the lively activity of Buddhist worship and make offerings in strong faith. Late morning, drive back to Yangon and arrive Yangon early afternoon. After check in at hotel and relax, evening walk at China Town before dinner. Overnight Yangon.
Day 4: Flight to Mandalay (B)
Breakfast at hotel. Late morning flight to Mandalay. Arrival meet and transfer to hotel. Afternoon visit Mahamuni pagoda, one of the country’s most revered Buddha images which, over the years, has been covered with gold leaf for hundreds of layers Continue to Tapestry making home cottage. Marble carving workshop. Gold-leaf Beating workshop, Shwenandaw Monastery. Kuthodaw Pagoda and enjoy sunset at Mandalay Hill. Overnight Mandalay.
Day 5: Visit Amarapura - Ava - Sagaing (B)
After breakfast at hotel, take a nice drive to Amarapura to have a nice view and short walk on 200 years old teak block wooden U Bein Bridge and visit Mahagandayon monastery to witness way of life as a monk and being devotee Buddhist. Visit also includes Silk weaving home cottages. Proceed to Ava, the capital from 14th to 18th centuries. Explore by horse cart to Bagaya Monastery and the remains of the Royal Palace and fort. In the afternoon cross the bridge over the Irrawaddy River for Sagaing. The religious centre where hundreds of monasteries and nunneries for thousands of monks and nuns. Visit also to include a nunnery to observe life to as a nun. Drive back to Mandalay and overnight in Mandalay. Enjoy sunset over Sagaing hill.
Day 6: Mandalay- Moniwa (B)
Breakfast at hotel. Take 3 hrs and half drive to Moniwa, a typical Burmese town on the banks of the Chindwin River. On the way, visit Thanboddhay Pagoda, where thousands of Buddha images cover every wall and archway of this huge Buddhist temple. Then proceed to Boditahtaung and take a walk through the nearby banyan or Bo tree together with the thousand Buddha images sitting at the foot of each tree and enjoy the view from Aung Setkaya Pagoda, standing 130 meter high on the Po Khaung hills. Then cross the Chindwin river by ferry boat and proceed by pickup or jeep to Hpo Win Daung, a system of impressive sandstone caves containing Buddha statues, wood carvings and fine mural paintings mainly in Innwa-style, some dating back to 15th century. Dozens of large and small caves with about 450,000 images are hidden in the area of the Hpo Win Hills. Return to Moniwa. Overnight in Moniwa.
Day 7: Moniwa - Bagan via Pokkoku (B)
After breakfast at the hotel, leave Moniwa along the rarely visited east bank of the river passing traditional villages where farmers climb the palm trees to extract the juice from which they produce palm tree sugar. Continue 20 km south to Pakokku. A lively, typical Burmese city with a strong craftwork tradition producing colourful woven blankets, papier-mâché toys and the traditional sandals. Continue by boat and cross the river to arrive in Bagan at the end of the day. From the 11th to 13th centuries, when Bagan was the capital of Myanmar, the rulers constructed thousands of huge stupas and temples many of which are still standing today on the banks of the Irrawaddy River. Overnight in Bagan.
Day 8: Bagan (B)
After breakfast at the hotel, your journey begins with a visit to colorful Nyaung Oo Market where every day the locals come to buy and sell fresh produce and other goods before visiting the golden stupa of Shwezigon Pagoda for an introduction in to Bagan’s rich history. This afternoon begin with a visit to a traditional lacquer ware workshop where you can observe the production of one of Myanmar’s best-known handicrafts. Continue to Ananda Temple, an architectural masterpiece and one of Bagan’s most beautiful temples. From here, travel by horse cart for a tour passing along ancient temples. Enjoy an unforgettable sunset over the plains from the upper terrace of one of the temples. Overnight in Bagan.
Day 9: Bagan (B)
After breakfast, visit to Myinkaba village and take a short walking tour to explore the temples of Manuha and Nan Paya and continue to famous Dhammayangyi Temple and Sula Mani Temples. Return to your hotel this evening. Evening boat ride over Ayarwaddy river. Overnight in Bagan.
Day 10: Bagan- Heho flight visit Inle Lake(B)
Breakfast at hotel. Transfer to airport for flight to Heho. Upon arrival drive continue the trip to Inle Lake, one of Myanmar's best-known sights. The Intha people, a tribe of Mon descent, mostly inhabit the lakeshores and floating villages. On arrival at Nyaung Shwe Village, check in at hotel (for hotel with lake location, transfer by boat). Upon reaching the edges of Inle Lake, board a private motorboat to head out to Inle Lake, one of Myanmar’s most spectacular sights. Pass villages built on stilts over the lake, inhabited by the local Intha people. Observe the leg-rowing fishermen and see their floating gardens built up from strips of water hyacinth and mud and anchored to the bottom with bamboo poles. Visit Nga Hpe Chaung Monastery, which houses dozens of Shan Buddha Images, but is more famous for its unique ‘jumping cats’ who jump through hoops in the air! Continue to Phaung Daw Oo Pagoda, the lake’s main sanctuary, which contains five sacred Buddha images covered in gold leaf. Explore the local crafts of Inle Lake with a stop at the weaving village of Inpawkhone and a cheroot factory, where the typical Burmese cigars are made by hand. If time permits, there may be time to enjoy a short walk through one of the lakeside villages. Overnight on Inle Lake.
Day 11: Indein (Inle Lake) (B)
After breakfast at hotel, a nice visit to colourful local market which rotates every 5 days around Inle region. Then excursion by motorized boat to In Dein. The boat leaves the lake and enters a narrow canal with a beautiful natural environment to continue to a small Pa O tribe village. A path leads to a 13th century monastery and the very impressive ruins of hundreds of ancient pagodas, some hidden in the greens. The main stupa-area on the top of the hill offers breathtaking views over the surrounding mountains and down to the valley and the lake in the far distance. Return to the lake and finish the visits of the lake in the afternoon. Overnight in Inle Lake.
Day 12: Inle Lake - Heho/ Yangon (B)
Breakfast at hotel. Morning enjoy the beauty of Inle Lake at leisure. Take afternoon flight to Yangon. Arrival meet and transfer to hotel. Overnight Yangon.
Day 13: Yangon (B)
Breakfast at hotel. Transfer to Yangon International Airport for your onward flight.
